Meet Michelle Mendoza of Sweet Flower Los Angeles
With a background as an educator and artist, Sweet Flower’s Michelle Mendoza seeks to approach the cannabis industry with a sense of dedication to growth, community, and compassion. Michelle works as the Senior Product Buyer curating the brands carried by each location leveraging her keen knowledge of the industry, having previously run Los Angeles Patient’s and Care Group, one of California’s first legal cannabis dispensaries. Sweet Flower, a string of Los Angeles-based dispensaries, boasts inviting interiors and carefully-curated cannabis offerings; underneath the Kinfolk design is a commitment to providing more than just a service. In a push to address inequality in the industry, the proceeds of curated cannabis kits are donated to the BCIF and Equity First Alliance, one component of a larger effort to create equal opportunity for marginalized communities often barred from, or criminalized for, the sale of cannabis. Cultivating a community is an integral component of the Sweet Flower ethos, as is vocal advocate for women in cannabis, apparent in the focus on partnering with diverse talent.
